AntiguaHome West Indies Stamps Antigua Books Antigua Maps Antigua PostcardsPostage stamps, booklets, flight, censored and maritime mail and philatelic covers of Antigua and Barbuda for sale. A good collection of stamps and postal history of Antigua can be formed. Thanks to the Codrington and Tudway correspondences and several other archives a wealth of pre stamp covers exist. There are not many sources of information on Antigua philately. I would recommend the Robson Lowe Encyclopaedia Vol. VI also the Codrington Correspondence by Robson Lowe. There is also a fine series of articles on the classic issues published by the BCPSG. Philatelic books for sale on Antigua Order FormClick on images to view full size.

Endorsed 'By the Leeward Island Packet.' Containing 3 pp
letter. Fine. Addressed to High Point plantation.
Letter from plantation owner, Samuel Martin to the
overseer, giving detailed advice on planting and
rotation of crops. He shows concern for the slaves,
'Unless the filling up of the Pond shd. prove useful to
the health of yourself, the white people and the
Negroes,
I shd. be inclined to grudge the expense I have incurred
in filling it up.. but it adds to the general healthiness
of the Plantation it will be money well laid out and may
be the means of forwarding an increase among the
Negroes. Remember me kindly to all the Negroes who
continue, I hope, to be religious, honest, and well
behaved people.' £225
