Below is a list of my stock of old and antiquarian maps and prints of Cuba for sale. Please note that images show the items with margins cropped to keep file sizes small. If the actual item has closely cropped margins this is noted in the description.

La Pintura Colonial Cubana en general, y mas aun la paisajistica, comienza con la toma de La Habana por los Ingleses en 1762. Durante la ocupacion inglesa aparecen los primeros paisajes de Cuba , especialmente ellos de Dominic Serres.Despues de este periodo,durante los decadas de los 1840’s,1850’s y 1860s’ fue una increible actividad pictorica. Fue la serie de litografias de Miahle, y las copias hecho por May en Europa, en Alemania. Se publican tambien las litografias de Baranano y Laplante, con El libro de Los Ingenios. Desde esta epoca , la tradicion de gravuras en Cuba a estado muy rica
El primer mapa de Cuba fue publicado por el conicido Italiano, Benedetto Bordone, en 1528. Desde esta fecha, existe un gran cantidad de mapas y planos antiguos de Cuba y sus ciudades, en particular La Habana y Santiago de Cuba. Entre les cartografos qui han hecho mapas de Cuba son Bonne,Bellin,Jefferys, van Keulen, Bowen, Bertius Gastaldi,Ruscelli, Mercator y Coronelli.

;) | VAN DER AA Baye et Ville de Havana ou St Christoval. (1729) Fine engraved map with attractive title cartouche. Attractive with very large margins. Fine condition. 12 x 8.5" Re-engraved by Van der Aa in 1729 after the version by Mortier published in 1702. The coastal outline is based on Roggeveen's 1675 map. At the entrance of the harbor is a watch tower,which according to the text would fly as many flags as foreign ships as had been spotted in the vicinity. Decorative cartouche with the original name of Havana,which in full was San Cristóbal de la Habana. | £175 |
