1823 (5 Nov) EDINBURGH Add! ½ on EL to Kelso (H/S13), rated 8½d. Edinburgh ds on reverse. The letter rate from Edinburgh to Kelso was reduced from 9½d to 8½d in 1821 presumably due to the mail coaches taking a shorter route bringing the distance below 81 miles.
