Postage stamps, booklets, flight, censored and maritime mail and philatelic covers of Trinidad for sale.
Early postal history of Trinidad does not appear to exist. Surprisingly the earliest known letter is dated 1786 I believe. There are only a few pre stamp postal markings to collect but this is made up for by the challenge of collecting the village postmarks, particularly the early numerals.
The lovely Britannia classic stamps are my favorite design and together with the provisional lithographs form a fascinating collection.
I would recommend stamp collectors to read John Marriotts "The philatelic history of Trinidad to 1862" but note that at present there is no guide available to the later issues. Postmark collectors now have Ted Prouds "The postal history of Trinidad & Tobago" and then there are the two fine works by the late Ron Wike - "Civil censorship devices of WWII" and "Trinidad & Tobago Air Mails."
Post and packing is extra and is calculated as follows:- Inland £1, Europe £1.50 and Overseas £2 The charge does not increase however many items are ordered.
