1839 (26 July) ship letter from Grenada to Scotland with boxed DEAL SHIP LETTER and London and Edinburgh ds's. Rated 1/10d and endorsed, 'Apollo Capt Milue.' Tear through address panel.

1817 (14 Apr) ship letter from Grenada to Scotland with fine boxed PORT GLASGOW SHIP LETTER. Interesting letter from business man travelling through the islands.

1820 (29 Aug) packet letter from Grenada to London with fine GRENADA AUG 29 h/s and London ds.

1825 (24 Apr) packet letter from London to James Wilson, Simlcur (?), Carriacou. London ds on reverse. Rated 2/2d. Long letter from John B. Shand a young gentleman who had been born in Jamaica but was now serving an apprenticeship in London. Fascinating contents describing the careers of his friends.

1832 (6 Jan) packet letter from Grenada to Scotland with fine boxed '½' in green applied in Falmouth, light double arc GRENADA cds and Glasgow ds. Rated 2/5½d.

1807 (2 May) EL from Grenada to Scotland. GRENADA MAY 2 h/s and London ds.

1788 (19 July) EL from Grenada to New Hampshire, U.S.A. carried privately. Letter from an agent of a New England merchant with a report of prospects for trade in Barbados and Grenada. U.S. trade with the West Indies had been very limited prior to the revolution.

1794 (7 May) EL from Grenada to Thomas Gordon, London with two line DEAL SHIP LRE and London ds. Rated 9d. Letter from local merchant reporting on sales of Madeira wine, 'Demand for this article has not been so considerable as might have been expected from the Expedition that has going forward in this country; but they came out abundantly supplied by Government. The capture of the French Colonies will no doubt increase the consumption here because the inhabitants will be under the necessity of drinking Madeira (tho' in a small proportion) while the grievance with France is so effectively put a stop to.'

1795 (26 Feb) EL from Grenada to Messrs Newton Gordon & Murdoch, Madeira. Carried privately. Letter from local merchant responding to criticism of the tastes of the islanders, 'we think we can distinquish betwixt such wine as you charge £38 Stg pr pipe & the vile half sour trash (as you term it) brought here by Guernsey truckers at £29. Each however has its purpose to answer and as all the inhabitants of this country cannot afford to drink good wine, some must drink bad.'

1785 (5 Mar) EL from Grenada to Scotland with two line LIVERPOOL SHIP LRE and s/l CARLISLE. Rated 11d. Letter re sugar estates, 'I purchased the 10th ult. 20 very fine young Ebo slaves at £40 p. head' and 'I am to give the bills when the Guinea Man sails which I suppose will be in 10 to 14 days.'
