MOORE J.C. The Life of Lieutenant General Sir John Moore, K.B. John Murray, London. 1834. 2 vols. viii + 319 + viii + 414pp + engraved frontispiece. 1st ed., 8vo. Water stain affecting frontispiece otherwise fine in very fine late C19th half calf with decorated spine. Nicol. 1796. 149 + [5] + 62 large pp + plan of Fort Bourbon in Martinique and map of the island with two aquatint engravings in text. 4to. 1st ed., few worm holes in margin only and light browning otherwise fine in orig. half calf. 9 x 11" The author was a chaplain with the British navy at the time of the occurrence of the events described. Rare. Note this edition does not include the full page acquatint plates. It is printed in a smaller size font and has much smaller margins than the other edition.WILLYAMS013317 £650
