1845 (26 Dec) boxed COLONIES &c ART 12 boxed mark on EL from Pointe A Pitre, Guadeloupe to France with Pointe A Pitre and Basseterre cds's and Angl Calais French entry mark. Endorsed 'Voir d'Angleterre.' The convention requiring the use of Article 12 for unpaid letters "From other Colonies and Countries beyond sea" for France went into effect on June 1, 1843. This is an example used on the last day

Rare. Note this edition does not include the full page acquatint plates. It is printed in a smaller size font and has much smaller margins than the other edition.
